What Do You Desire?

Happy Monday, Beautiful!

I’m finally fulfilling my desire to live with my horses and I couldn’t be happier. I’m also more present to the weather changes because I go outside to feed them every morning. After enduring a Texas Summer, I’m enjoying this Fall more than ever and am grateful for the cooler morning temps.

I love seeing the trees transform into vibrant colors and hearing the sound of leaves crunching under my feet when I walk.

I also love seeing the horses get their winter coats and enjoy the changing seasons by taking naps in the sun and rolling in the fallen leaves. It fills me with joy to have the privilege to interact with them daily and observe their herd dynamics.

To live on the same property as my horses is a dream come true…and I’m so very grateful.

My relationship with each one of them is getting deeper. I’m learning things from them that wasn’t possible when they were boarded and my time with them was limited to barn visits and trail rides.

I coach my clients to align with their souls and share their God-given gifts by following the breadcrumbs.

Many of them aren’t clear on what their gifts are or what their souls came to Earth to do.

I tell them that I’ve loved horses since I was a little girl, but I didn’t take my first riding lesson until I was 40 years old. Then I say, “Little did I know when I gave myself riding lessons it would turn into this,” as I sweep my arms to gesture the 8 grazing horses and the glistening pond several yards away.

It all started with a desire to learn to ride horses because I had always been, attracted to horses.

I believe that desire is the spark in our hearts that ignites the flame of our soul’s passions. It’s what fuels our creativity, imagination, and vision.

We were born “knowing” what we came to Earth to do. As children, our fires burned brightly. Then life happened, our egos developed, and we took on the beliefs of our families and society at large.

Before we knew it, many of us lost our joyful sense of wonder and became who we thought we should be, and lost sight of our Authentic Selves.

Desire is what persistently nudged me to gift myself with riding lessons for my 40th birthday, which ultimately led me to discover the essential healing gift of horses.

Had I not said yes to my heart’s desire to learn to ride horses, and then not said yes to purchasing Bodie, I can’t imagine how I would have gotten through the horrific years of my son’s addiction.

I knew from countless personal experiences of my “counseling” sessions with Bodie, that something transformational was taking place between us. It was undeniable and it ignited a spark of desire inside of me to learn more about the horse-human healing connection.

My driving force was desire.

Saying “yes” to my desires has been an awe-inspiring journey to this magical moment, where I’m writing to you on this gorgeous Fall day. My beloved and I are living with our horses, and I’m doing the “work” that my soul came to Earth to do…supporting others in discovering their God-given gifts and sharing them with the world.

I’ve been passionate about healing since I was 19 years old and desire has guided me to follow the breadcrumbs along my path. Never in a million years did I know that saying “yes” to my desires would bring me to discover the essential healing gifts of horses, get certified in the Equine Gestalt Coaching Method®, and partner with these magnificent beings to contribute to raising the vibration of love on the planet.

So, Beautiful, what about you? Are you ready to say “yes” to your heart’s desires?

As I wrote this, I heard some of my clients say, “I don’t know what I desire.”

Is that how you answered my question?

Your desires are waiting for you to acknowledge and allow them to guide you to become the person you were put on this Earth to be.

That nudge you feel inside to grow and find deeper meaning are your desires. Your fears may be dimming them, but your desires are there.

Last week I shared with you that I recently read, “Everything is Figuroutable” by Marie Forleo. In it, she shared an exercise that will help you unearth your heart’s desires.

Here’s the deal, though. If you really want to move forward, expand, and grow, you have to take action. Reading this and not taking action, will not get you results.

If you’re ready to align with your soul’s passion, try Marie’s exercise to help you discover your desires.

For the next 7 days, write at the top of a blank sheet of paper, “What I really want is…”. Then, fill the entire sheet of paper with whatever comes into your mind. Don’t edit, judge it, or second guess yourself. Allow your pen to flow until the entire page is filled.

Continue doing this for 7 days, but don’t look back and re-read any of your previous days’ writings. Start with a fresh sheet of paper each day and write, “What I really want is…”

Then, at the end of the 7 days, read what you wrote and circle everything you wrote more than once.

Guess what?

The items that you circled are your desires.

Make a list of them and then pick one and say “yes” to it.

Maybe you desire to learn another language. So, what is one action that you can take to fulfilling that desire?

You could download an app and commit to doing the lessons for 15 minutes a day. Or you could sign up for a class where you will be immersed in learning the language.

Who knows where following that breadcrumb by saying “yes” to that desire will guide you? One thing is for certain…taking inspired action always leads to growth and expansion.

Isn’t it time you say “yes” to your desires?

Sending you so much love,

Lyn
